Runners-up for the Bleus for the past three years, the Dutch finally won the Motocross des Nations at the end of September by winning at home in the sands of Assen. Deprived of a podium spot due to mechanical problems, the French Team Blues will be eager for revenge in a year’s time at Ernée, where they had triumphed in 2015 by hanging up the third of the six stars that decorate their jersey.
All series come to an end, and it was in Assen that the French Team set foot on the ground after five consecutive wins between 2014 and 2018, in addition to the success achieved in 2001 in Namur (Belgium). It took a short lap in the last race for the French (Gautier Paulin, Maxime Renaux and Jordi Tixier) to climb on the podium, an unfortunate fuel shortage stopping one of the musketeers in preparation for the finish.
As was often the case in this team race which will celebrate Ernée’s 74th birthday next year, the French Team will therefore approach the 2020 edition in an outsider position!
“It’s the sport, all series at an end and it happened today; it was great to win five times in a row, now when you lose you appreciate even more the past victories and you’ll appreciate the next one even more,”
… analyzed Sunday evening Pascal Finot, coach of this French Team.
On 26 and 27 September 2020, Les Bleus will have a major asset with them: the public, their audience!
